Allan Wright

Allan Wright is one the foremost Landscape Photographers currently working in Scotland. Among his professional achievements over the past 25 years has been the creation of a prolific and impressive body of work resulting in a long list of publications for the brand “Lyrical Scotland” and associated commercial activities for many prestige clients.

His work

He says of his own work “I am primarily interested in getting images that display lyricism and a powerful sense of place”. The majority of his work is Scottish landscape in classic, literal and abstract forms. Allan has developed a distinctive style of interpreting landscape and this is apparent in the composition, use of colour and the way he handles light. He is able to use the subject and the available light to illuminate and present the essence of the subject in a great variety of ways. He subsequently uses the superb Hi-Fi quality of today’s digital imaging technology to great effect in producing printed images with a wonderfully distinctive natural resonance.

In addition to the public Gallery at Parton in Galloway, the photographic workshops and his commercial activities Allan will soon be offering comprehensive access to all his work via a brand new web gallery. This facility will offer a vast range of hand printed photographs and image downloads on demand.

We are located on the banks of beautiful Loch Ken deep in the heart of rural Galloway, 6 miles North of Castle Douglas on the A713 (1.9mls past Crossmichael village)  The Gallery has recently been refurbished and is sited in the stable buildings that were once part of Old Parton Estate.
